This sculpture is about the strength and fragility of nature and in particular the sea. It is about the uncontrollable force of the sea and the power and strength that it has over humanity, its ability to serve the population in the form of producing food, a source of work, and a way of living and yet it´s ferocious power of destroying those very towns it gave a life to. As strong as we may perceive the sea to be, it also has a vulnerability and a fragility at the hands of the humanity it serves, who can pollute and damage it. Throughout the tattoos of the waves in the sculpture, Gabriel wanted to bring across the fluidity, movement and manipulation of the sea, the way it adapts to whichever container you place it in, or path you carve out for it.
