Adrienne Stein is a young artist currently living and working in York, PA. From an early age, Adrienne identified within herself a passion for drawing and painting, and subsequently devoted herself to studying the Old Masters. With a background in traditional European painting techniques, Adrienne seeks to bring the past into the present in a fresh way. She draws inspiration from travel and daily experiences, as well as art history, sacred art and architecture, literature, and the richly textured landscape of her native southern Pennsylvania. The lush spaces allow the viewer to enter an enchanted realm set apart from life. This world is often inhabited by figures, mythic symbols, and natural elements.
Adrienne received her MFA from Boston University in 2013 and her BFA from Laguna College of Art & Design in 2007. She has widely exhibited her work in diverse venues, selling out shows in the Mid-Atlantic region and receiving national press. She has received numerous awards from organizations such as the Portrait Society of America, The Art Renewal Center, The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation, and the John F. and Anna Lee Stacey Award. Adrienne has made charitable donations to local and national organizations and has had motivational speaking engagements. She has studied under many gifted and influential instructors in addition to studying at various institutions in New England, Pennsylvania, New York, California, as well as abroad in France and Italy. Adrienne hopes to make a life of continued discovery and to perpetually cultivate her skills toward mastery.
